Overview

CHERI Alliance membership connects you with companies, researchers and practitioners working across the CHERI ecosystem. Whether you want to influence its direction, learn from experts, increase your visibility or simply demonstrate your support for CHERI, there is a way to get involved.

Organisations can join as Full Members or eligible Community Members, while individuals can participate as Community Members or Ambassadors.

Benefits of membership

CHERI Alliance members can:

• Connect with companies, researchers and practitioners across the CHERI ecosystem
• Collaborate through working groups, events and shared activities
• Learn from CHERI experts and real-world implementation experience
• Influence technical priorities, standards and activities that accelerate adoption
• Gain visibility through member profiles, events, publications, product listings and Alliance communications
• Contribute to software, guidance, education and outreach
• Demonstrate support for CHERI and help build industry confidence and demand
• Participate in governance, including Governing Board elections

Participate at your own pace

Membership does not require a minimum level of participation, except for Ambassadors, who commit to supporting Alliance activities.

How much you participate is entirely up to you. Join the working groups, events and activities that match your interests and priorities. If enough members want to collaborate on a new topic, the Alliance usually creates new working groups or activities around it.

Even simply becoming a member matters. A growing membership demonstrates demand for CHERI and encourages suppliers, developers and adopters to invest in the technology.

Membership for organisations

There are two organisational membership options.

Full Membership is for commercial organisations and others seeking the highest level of visibility, influence and membership benefits.

Community Membership is a free option for eligible research organisations, public bodies, non-profits and open-source organisations.

Full membership

Full Membership is designed for organisations that want the highest level of participation, visibility and influence within the CHERI ecosystem.

Commercial organisations join as Full Members. Research organisations, public bodies, non-profits and open-source organisations can also choose Full Membership for its additional benefits.

Full Members receive:

• Greater visibility through a dedicated member page, Alliance communications, conferences, publications, speaking opportunities and promotional activities
• Greater influence in Alliance governance, including nominating candidates and electing the majority of Governing Board representatives
• Reduced certification fees for CHERI product certification
• Access to all working groups, with no mandatory level of participation
• Use of the applicable CHERI Alliance membership mark

Community membership

Community Membership is available free of charge to eligible research organisations, public bodies, non-profits and open-source organisations that want to participate in and contribute to the CHERI ecosystem.

Community Members can:

• participate in working groups, events and Alliance activities
• connect and collaborate across the CHERI ecosystem
• receive a dedicated member page
• contribute to research, open source, education, public policy and adoption
• vote for Community representatives on the Governing Board
• stand for available Community seats

Community Members are an important part of the Alliance, bringing together organisations whose work helps broaden and strengthen the CHERI ecosystem.

Membership for individuals

Individual Community Members

Individuals can join as Community Members to contribute expertise, participate in the community and engage with Alliance activities.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors are Community Members who make an additional commitment to support the Alliance through education, outreach, events, content creation and community building.

Membership fees

The CHERI Alliance is a lean, non-profit organisation. Membership fees support its collaboration infrastructure, communications, events and other activities that help accelerate CHERI adoption.

We deliberately keep fees accessible because a broad and diverse membership strengthens the CHERI ecosystem. This is possible thanks to the support from the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

Community Membership is free for eligible organisations and individuals.

Full Membership

Additional discounts are available for multi-year memberships and successful member referrals, and discounts can be combined.
